5G and C-V2X Enhanced Protection-System for Railway Safety

This project assists State-owned Taiwan Railways Corporation Ltd. in building a localized and digitalized radio backup system to expand more application services:

1.We aim to localize the production of 5G+C-V2X all-in-one machine and to build a backup system for Train Radio Protection System (TRPS) for the purpose of strengthening protection when TRPS malfunctions.

2.By applying lightweight mobile warning system at construction sites and high-risk intersections of railways, we can immediately warn the train and the staff or people.

3.Self-develop a localized smart railways safety management platform named iRailSafeTM, whose cloud data interfaces are compatible with the standard that specified by Railway Bureau, in addition, it can adapt with other detection systems, such as obstacle detection of high-risk hillside.

4.The intelligent inspection of tree which nearby the railway it can improve the maintenance capacity of the shift and improve the working efficiency.

Compal took the lead in completing the digital twin platform of 5G + C-V2X that creates a full-scenario connection between trains, railways, and employees. The platform iscompatible with Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) which specified by Europe, and assisting State-owned Taiwan Railway Corporation Ltd. to be in line with 3GPP/5GAA international standards, and thus enhance railway safety effectively.
